Stats

I "ran" 3 miles last night in 33.12 minutes, so my pace was 11.04 minutes per mile.

At first, I was like "sweetness!" But then Tony goes, "Oh, that's not fast or anything. You were actually setting a faster pace back in November."

(See, I totally slacked off, and basically stopped running in November.)

I never even paid attention to my pace before, I guess cuz my goal wasn't to be fast, only to get out of the house for a while and listen to my iPod. But how disconerting is it that my body is all weak and fragile again after a 4-5 week running break? Flickle, flickle muscles and lungs.

Wow, I actually think that time isn't too bad for how long you've been running. You would probably beat me. I feel like the slowest runner in the world. I run as slow as some people walk, but I'm workin' on it. Keep it up cuz all us runners in the family are gonna run in a 5K together someday.

I'm totally going to be there to watch all you runners in the family run a 5k. Oh man..I just had a great idea! We should plan a run for you gize to all do at the "family get together" in April. I'll plan a prize and everything.

Fast is so relative. Just race against yourself and you'll get better and better. I remember how excited I was to finally be able to run a 5k in just under 30 minutes. My last 5k race was 24 minutes I think. Now that I'm pregnant, I can't even seem to walk one in under an hour.
And I totally understand how finicky those muscles can be. They don't like taking more than a 3 day break or they make you PAY big time.

Muscles are roood. Sweet time!! Don't listen to Tony. He runs marathons and stuff.

I wish I had something to contribute here but I don't run. I'd prolly kill for an 11 minute mile.

What size jeans do you wear?

L--You have some nerve, asking a lady a question like that. What size do you think I wear? Careful now...

I love the 5k in April idea, HotPants, what do you Runner People think? Em, you and I can race for the title of slowest person in the world.

And Memzy, because Tony runs long distance, he paces himself to endure the long run. So, if he was gonna go out and run 3miles, he would still set his goal marathon pace, not a faster 5k pace.

April is perf. Race! Race! Race!

Hmmmm..... Size 2? And totally not because I've seen the label in your Gap jeans.

Ps. You gize are mean to plan family stuff with non-family peeps around.

^^^ that is LANDEE... Not Landed. Dang autocorrect.

Landee, if you happen to be in the Idaho area towards the end of April, and you happen to come across our big family partay, you would not be turned away. Especially if you were tired or hungry, cuz that's what Jesus would want us to do.

You know I am afraid to start running again. I took it easy for about two weeks after the fated Christmas paper run, and today I feel sore, for no reason. Just walking around at a regular pace. I can't imagine running.

I am so proud of you, and is this family thing a real thing? I hope so because it sounds fun

Hot Pants said...

Katie, don't play dumb about the family thing. You already agreed to go. It's a reunion, only I don't want to call it a reunion because I don't want everyone to have all the expectations that come with having a reunion, so we will call it a get together instead.
