Destiny's Mama...

Destiny's Mama has a gig you gize! At a local nursing home. So excited. BIG deal. Here are a couple songs from our playlist. The songs are oldies you gize, like from the 1800s, cuz we're playing for old folks. We're a lil' rusty, but we're practicing like crazy.

They're gonna heart you gize because you are cuties, even if you couldn't sing. Very cool of you to do it!

The kids choir I used to play for used to do retirement and nursing homes. Didn't matter HOW bad the kids did, they loved them.

The fact that you can sing is a bonus, though.

I'm worried that all the banging on the guitar is gonna scare the olds. Some of them might have their hearing aids turned up too loud.

And Jenny, rather than stand there and pretend to play on that second song, why don't you just put the guitar down, get some cat-eye glasses & some purple clothes and steal some moves from that crazy lady in Seattle. She was old= the olds will like it.

Those were some of my favorites. I would like to put in a request for Ghost Riders though,(Pg 9 Level 3) Thanks, I can't wait!

Hmmm- I am having trouble with the streaming speed (like the nbc.com stuff at night) so I am going to have to come back and try again. From what I could tell (only played 2-3 seconds at a time) it sounded amazing. BBL.

i heart you gize and i am not even old! Have you always played the guitar? That could have really come in handy with our bruneel tire jingle! The best part about it is you gize don't even have to get back up dancers and that is gonna save you big bucks in the long run...love the moves!

It's crazy difficult to play the guitar when you have the jimmy-legs like that. I'm super impressed.
Its wonderful that there are people in the world who actually enjoy performing in front of people. I have recently been informed I MUST dust off the guitar I have sworn to never touch again, and return to a painful time in my life, which I have all but blocked out, wherein I actually played and sang in front of people. I can't even begin to tell you the dread and consternation this is causing me. May a hovercraft come for my body before that day arrives.

You gize are totally gonna rock the house!!!! ::sitting here wishing I knew how to play the guitar::

Markie, your just gonna have to muscle through it.

Krissy--I learned to play about ten years ago, so unfortunately I didn't know how to play during the Bruneel Tire commercial jingle days.

Landee--As soon as I find my strap, I'll be able to play and do the Charleston at the same time.

Markie--I also hate performing in front of people when it's for reals. It makes me sick. I'm dusting off my guitar for the same event that you must perform at (may the best performer win!). My fingertips are soft, and now they're sore and swollen from practicing. I'm typing this one handed you gize.

Who am I you gize?... "Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make that garden grow, all I need is a rake and a hoe and some seeds that were blessed by love...."

Oh, did I mention how excited I am to see Markie and the BR perform? Classic. Can't wait.

Jenny I know who you are being, your the same as this...Islands call out to me like the finelands that I want to be in my dreams of old....I amnever alone if Im there...la la la

I used to think it went, "Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make that garden grow, all I need is a rake and a hoe and A STICK OF TURTLE DOVE...."
I think you should sing it like that Markie. Or, if you want to lip sink it, I think I could dig up an old tape for you.

You two sound great!
Post some of the songs you guys wrote back in the old days. You had a few good ones.

You might just give those old folks a heart attack! You guys are awesome!

Oh my freakage--It's genius. You gize are gonna sell out!!! I'm buying my ticket on tickemaster RIGHT NOW.

Markie, are you and Sammy supposed to colloborate on anything? He was asked for Islands, Gramma's Featherbed and I can't remember the other one....another John Denver, not on the greatest hits album....

I missed that era, so I'm kind of excited to see you guys...I promise not to laugh. Out loud.

Jenny ESP said...

Oooo, it's a good thing Shel mentioned that you gize are singing Grandma's Feather Bed because Destiny's Mama was considering that one. We wouldn't want to be upstaged by the "Bailey Reunion." What about Stairway to Heaven? Or Swing, Swing by the All American Rejects? Cuz we were also considering those songs. We need to get on the same page here or we're gonna have some embarrassing repeats.

You cuties are fantastic and I can hardly wait to see it all in person. But you have to quit making fun of songs like "Islands" and "Inch by Inch". I did love the version you have on your blog, though.

I think BR should sing Madonna's like a prayer!
