26 inches...

That's how long my hair is, measuring from the crown of my head. It would make a polygamist green with envy.

I have a hair appointment next Thursday, and I don't know what to do with it. It's in really bad shape you gize. I always wait too long to get my roots touched up(<--shh, don't tell anyone it's not natural) and I have TONS of breakage, and I'm totally dreading the disapproval I'm sure to see on my hairdresser's face. I can't cut it too short. (Don't even mention Locks of Love--they wouldn't touch my over-processed hair with a ten foot pole.) Other people look cute with short hair, but I did that once and I looked like a... well, like a mom, quite frankly. I can't pull it off you gize. But I also don't want to look like a polygamist anymore. What should I do? Last time I made a drastic change, I ended up like this.

Last night I found some candy on my front porch, and it tastes weird. I'm concerned bc a "secret ghost" left it. Should I try to vomit it up, or wait and see? And oh my gosh you gize, last night while we were running, I saw the freakiest thing! I'll take a picture of it tonight and add it later so check back.

Hmm. I have nothing to do. I already read The Hunger Games twice. I tried to read another book but my mind keeps drifting back to Peeta, and I just realized I'm totally screwed bc I will never be able to enjoy another book.

Peeta.

Oh c'mon. You'll enjoy a book again someday. Like, Peeta Part Deux, for example.

As for your hurrdid, just go for a nice midlength/long cut (19 inches?) with some subtle layers. I watch What Not To Wear so I know about stuff like this.

I haven't read the book but Peeta! Is that really the name because I can't help but think of Pita Bread and Hummus every time I hear it.

I used to work with a girl named Peeta. Wait, maybe it was Petra. They're both wierd names though.

::impatiently waiting for Amazon to deliver my book!::

I remember feeling that way about books after I read Twilight. But look, it can happen. After a year or so your feelings will start cooling off and by then hopefully we'll have another awesome read.

As for hair...I don't know... my hair is all natural...as in graying, I need a new hairstyle too...

I think you should just let it grow. Let it grow and grow until the breakage is so bad that you feel like you have to braid it into a tiny rat tail. I think you could bring that baby back.

1. Can I see a picture of your hair right now? Preferrably one where you are actually measuring it?
2. I am DYING to read that book. Just ask Landee cuz I sent her a threatening email about discussing it ahead of time. ::staring accusingly at Jenny and Landee::
3. Do you hair like, totally 80's. Get it permed and cut bangs (half up-half down).

Jay Kay. Do what Landee said, that sounds like a good look. That's sorta what I have.......sorta.

I drove into Boise yesterday to buy the book ($17.95! Yikes!) and will start it today. But I find it hard to believe that a book written for teens is now your most fave book when there are soooooooo much fantastic literature out there! Maybe you should just shave your head and start over. Or you could try taking some vitamins for hair and nails. I tried that and it has helped.

Memzy thinks her hurr is hawt. I knew it.

I like the Mexican Red look!

Peeta - an animal rights group for stutterers?

Notice the "sorta" in there twice Landers. ::rolling eyes::

I started the book and I'm hooked! I wish my family would just fend for themselves for a day or two so I could just finish it.

26 inches?? I think you should cut 10 inches off and go darker with some lighter highlights. It's much easier to maintain IMO. You need to take a before and after picture too.

Thanks for the hair input you gize. I'll take before and afters for sure.

Mary--what's hard to believe about a YA book being my fave? I do like some literature, but literary novels are not my fave genre by far. Doesn't mean I'm not classy, I just like high-concept stuff best. Overall, I think you'll love the book.

Em--cough and sniff and tell your family you're sick and need to lay in bed with your book.

Peeta.

I'm with Memzy...no spoilers until we are all done reading it! Good luck with the hair tomorrow, can't wait to see the before and after headshots!

No matter what you do with your hair you will ALWAYS be the cutest, skinniest, wittiest cousin on the block.

I gotta get my hands on this book. Any suggestions??

Sam, Shel & Co said...

I got it on Amazon...it was cheaper than Borders. The libraries didn't have it yet.

Jen, you really should read Markie's suggestion. I got it at the library (I'm not sure you can buy it anymore...and I used rubber gloves, of course) and it was a fun read. Kind of Jane Austenish with great characters. I read it aloud to Sam and he loved it, too.

And, regardless of what you do with your hair, my guess is that you'll still look about 16.

Ok. I'm feeling better and glad I misinterpreted your comment. Thanks for clarifying. I was thinking of the time when I said I run 6 days a week and you came back with teasings about isn't it ok to run on Sunday?...Then I was all paranoid thinking that you thought that I thought I should put I run 6 days a week so that everyone knows I don't run on Sundays. (I intentionally let that be a ridiculously long, inconcise sentence.) When really all I was meaning is that I run A LOT. Am I making sense at all? Anyhow, I totally love you more than you love me. And sorry I haven't shown it better.
Love the one who loves you more,
Amanda

Oh, and about your hair. Don't cut it. Just join the polygs cult. You'll be by far the hottest on the block and most loved plural wife.

MM--I still don't see how you reached your conclusion about me. If I thought you were S-R, I wouldn't feel comfortable telling you about my Sunday night runs(<--as in jogging you gize) for fear that you would think I was a loser. It seems like my goal with that comment was probably to one-up you, cuz I run 7 days a week, while you run a measly 6 days a week.(jk) Geez.(jk) If you're going to misinterpret my comment, misinterpret it right.(jk) Look, it would be easy for me to interpret some of your comments negatively (srsly, go read some of them), but I give you the benefit of the doubt. To avoid any misinterpretation and embarrassing outbursts in the future, I'm just gonna say, "Thanks for sharing!" in your comments, which I will shorten to "TFS!" due to time restraints.(jk) Gosh, I hate blogging.

I am in similar mourning regarding Peeta & co. I wanted to reread but selflessly loaned it to a neighbor who better hurry it up.

Whatever you do, don't try Anna Karenina as a chaser as I did. I can't even get through the first chapter...

ManicMandee said...

Ok, so now that I have gone back and read many of my comments I've got a headache trying to misinterpret them. Couldn't see how you could take them negatively. And yet you can't get how I might do that with yours. Hmmm. Let me go take some Tylenol. Then I'll let it go and keep on loving you more. K?
