Mexican Red/Baby Jesus

I decided to stop putting those bleached-out highlights in my hair, and color it a more mature dark-blonde color (I am 28 now. Ahem. Anyways...). So I made an appointment with a new hairdresser (my regular hairdresser moved away in January and I haven't been able to find a good one yet!). I told her what I wanted, but there was obviously some miss-communication. Intuitively, I knew things weren't going well because she continued to tell me over and over how beautiful I am. I'm like, "I know, I know, you're preachin' to the choir, lady." But when I put my thick glasses back on, and I came into focus in the mirror, I saw that she had colored my hair Mexican red (definition: a sort of purplish red).

This is me, weeping:
(It's hard to tell in this picture, but trust me, it's Mexican red).

I'll get over it.

On a happier note, we finally finished decorating our Christmas tree--we had just been adding things every now and then, when ever we happened to pass by it--and I found my favorite ornament:

It's a fragile paper thing Cord made when he was 3 1/2, and I've hung onto it for 6 Christmases. Every time I pull it out it makes me laugh--I think it's the eyes. (It's baby Jesus in a manger, if you can't tell.)

oh my, Jenny is that you? I was just skimming through your blogg kinda fast and thought I passed by a mexican, but I can see its not a Mexican its just you weeping. Actually I just saw you at red robin and you didnt look like a mexican. You look like a white chick with pinkish hair. You will grow into it. Dont worry and if you want number juan to slash the ladies tires for you, Im sure he will be more than happy to, right juan?

You're right, I can't tell from the picture! I don't think you could do anything to mess up your always perfect hair! That ornament Cord made is PRICELESS!!

I love the color red, and I also love mexican food. Two things I love, so I don't see the problem. I have some pretty sweet homemade Christmas treasures from my kids too. They are my favorite.
Have fun at 'the place' this weekend Andy and Amber, I am jealous!

We need a better picture of your new hair color, cause it doesn't look red to me. But it does remind me of the time your dad talked me into bleaching my hair blond and instead of blond I got a nice pumpkin orange and unlike you, pictures of the awful event were out of the question!
