For those of you who don't know, my coat was recently stolen by this person, but since that person took a picture of herself wearing it, and posted it on the internet, I was able to solve Esplin family mystery #49: "Where the bleep is my coat?"
I was so relieved and excited to get it back, I decided to make a mini musical about it. Anthony and the boys were very supportive. They've been sick with worry about me since the temperature dropped into the low 50s.

You know that person you were talking about that "borrowed" your coat? Well she wanted me to tell you that she is so cold!
Of course I remember you and the saga of the dysfunctional slideshow at Gus and Mary's! Your mini musical is probably the best thing I've yet to find on ANY blog. Well done. You had me laughing out loud.
Ikumi say thank you fo putting him on blog! he vewy excited
I liked your links. So was it Erin or Al Gore that "borrowed" your coat?
bor·row; to take or obtain with the promise to return the same or an equivalent: Our neighbor borrowed my lawn mower.
steal·ing; to take (the property of another or others) without permission or right, esp. secretly or by force: A pickpocket stole his watch.
Which one was it?
amy you really should mind your own business. She borrowed, yes bor-rowed the coat
Looks like you got your Christmas wish. It is a mighty stylin coat, I can see why it was so missed in this frosty weather.
You are groovy. This one was WAY better than electric fireplce. How do you get the timing so perfectly with the music? My favorites are:
1 The crawling on the floor
2 Erin's asian friend's cameo
3 Anthony and Cord sitting on the couch while you do the whole thing
4 Your fingers out the door at the end
My rating: *****
Still your biggest fan! - Uncle Mark
Jenny is the grooviest in the whole family. I want to be groovy like that.
I'm speechless. That was hee-frekin'-larious!
holy crap, I cant wait to see what you do when I give you back your bras!
This video made me realize that you like your coat more than Daddy Warbucks liked Annie. That is passion. I think I can see why though. Warm and stylish vs red hair and freckles. I bet he wished someone would borrow her for the winter. (TIK)
Bravo, 5 Stars for sure!
That was fab....we watched it several times and got a good laugh every time. Meg was especially impressed. You're gonna have to give us video-making lessons.
That's cool you named your coat "Annie". I like it. Imma do that with something. ::wink wink::
In the masterful modern work "I Got my Coat Back..." the musical genre is reexamined through a series of still imagery, that of depicting song, dance, and rejoicing. The prevalent ideologies of our culture are filtered through the lens of the musical genre - and, in modern form - the work tends to raise more questions than it answers.
The opening image suggests "Annie" is to play a major roll in the proceeding. Are we being lead to understand that the winter garment featured in this piece IS Annie? Or, is this simply a metaphor between said article of clothing and a well known redheaded foster-child?
The captivating imagery, cleaver melodic timing, and coquettish choreography in the vibrant and appealing "I Got my Coat Back..." make it easy to connect with the female protagonist and the apparent relationship with her newly reunited apparel.
While the work did little to avoid racial stereotyping, overall I quite enjoyed it. I give it one thumb up and one kind of sideways thumb, kind of like the hang loose sign, but without the pinky finger extended.
yer funny
Congratulations on the coat! I think that its great that you got it back. I have watched this video 5 or 6 times. I get a little choked up about 3/4 of the way through but I just can't stop watching!
Jenny,
I am ready for the next video, perhaps a feature length production this time. Are you working on it. Your fans are waiting.
Having just returned from Vegas, I'm joining in to confirm the fact that a coat in Vegas weather is definitely a necessity at this time. My favorite was Gus' enthusiasm over the return of your coat.
Jenny, that was AWESOME!!! Thanks for your card, too. Merry Christmas!
